How do Christians grow? The Word of God is our food! How do we hide God’s Word in our hearts as the Psalmist instructed that we might not sin against God?
Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You. Psalm 119:11
God has fearfully and wonderfully made our minds to retain all of The Treasure that He has invested for US!
One of the most powerful ways to remember God’s Word is in SONG as the Psalmist modeled:
Your statutes have been my songs
In the house of my pilgrimage. Psalm 119:54
For over three decades, the Lord has graciously illumined His Word as melodies in my heart in song, that He might quicken me for His Name’s sake on every occasion with His living, breathing, active, powerful, heart-discerning Word:
Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name’s sake: for thy righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble. Psalm 143:11
Yesterday (August 31, 2023), a precious ministry partner started a group message requesting all who were invited to share a prayer need and an edifying Scripture. As a result, the Lord prompted me to record this very simple version of “Slow to Anger Medley”.
If the Lord so wills that you hear these Words in song, He will accomplish what He has promised in sending these Words to You:
“Just as rain and snow fall from heaven
and do not return there
without saturating the earth
and making it germinate and sprout,
and providing seed to sow
and food to eat,
so My word that comes from My mouth
will not return to Me empty,
but it will accomplish what I please
and will prosper in what I send it to do.” Isaiah 55:10-11

Have you considered the marvel of what it means that we as God’s children were created as the Temple of His Holy Spirit? He created us that He might pour His excellent power through our earthen vessels for His glory and the strengthening of the Body of Christ. This is truly astounding and miraculous!
On a cold day in January 2022, the Lord brought these “improvisational soul tones” – a melody through my fingers on the piano that He had been speaking into my Spirit for months as I recovered from a traumatic injury. Unbeknownst to me, these melodic utterances would also be balm for other areas of deep brokenness. In February 2022, as a love song to the Lord, He gave me His Words to add to His inspired melody. One of three songs in our “Treasure Medley”, these soul tones were fittingly provided at a high price: first through the melody alone and second through the accompanying lyrics.
