In a moment when my heart felt frail, 
Heavy, despised, hoping to avail
Yet tangled up with voices pounding
Resistance, distance all surrounding.

I wished to run and hide away
And not return another day.
Though once I’d hoped for endless days
when our togetherness was praised.

I shouted out in disbelief
Because I needed some relief
From the isolating glances.
My mind reeled to understand it.

When you observed the restless clatter,
You owned that something was the matter.
You saw and heard, responded swiftly,
To ease my need so kind and tenderly.

A confession prompted by our King
Was ushered forth…a sincere pleading. 
Unbeknownst to me,asked to forgive…
Washed clean by Him Whose mercy e’er lives.

Yes, He’s the Wooer of our souls,
Striking heart chords, making us whole.
And fruit so sweet doth He produce.
All glory is His; His is the truce.

When faithful are we, His hands and feet,
Our adversary must retreat.
Our Captain’s Love Songs to implore
For one another to adore.

And this you did such like no other,
Courage and gratitude uncovered.
Dear words and prayers so near my heart,
Penned by You as a healing guard.
